Monday night – out for Tapas. I want to like this place more than I do. It’s in a great old heritage building, has been done inside to be casual yet rustic yet trendy at the same time. They pour some great drinks (although a bit pricey) and it’s the usual main street crowd (think heavy-rimmed glasses, coiffed-to-look-messy hair and expensive yet inexpensive-looking clothes) who hang out here. The food was so-so, with some tasty-yet-flavourless fried tofu and some actually pretty tasty spring rolls.
In terms of drinks, this place is no Cascade room or Greedy Pig – it’s just a restaurant with a nice patio that if you’re looking for a low-key place to go and happen to be in the neighborhood, it won’t offend, it won’t exhilarate, and you’ll probably just have a good time.
