This was a great, very interesting, inexpensive meal in a small, quaint, charming fish restaurant with excellent service. And if I had a friend in town who wanted an relatively inexpensive but still semi-formal lunch in the 7th, I would definitely consider taking them here.
The food was [...]

La Rotonde Montparnasse, Paris
April 11th, 2009 · No Comments · Bib Gourmand, Bistro, France, French, Paris
So La Rotonde is one of the Parisian institutions of Montparnasse – its list of famous figures of the 20th century that have drunk (and probably been very drunk), eaten, and discussed the meaning of life behind its doors would make up most of the early 20th century Who’s Who of the [...]

L’atelier du Joël Robuchon, Paris

This will just be a short summary of a restaurant which would be easy to write volumes about. This is the second time we’ve eaten here – the first was a dinner meal that we would both describe as one of our best dining experiences ever, and the second experience – [...]

Fish la Boissonnerie, Paris

L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon – Paris – 1 Michelin Star
October 5th, 2008 · No Comments · Favorites, France, French, Michelin starred, Paris
First of all – although the guide book and apparently many magazines had written no reservations, they actually accept reservations for the dinner service but only the first seating at 6:30pm. I think they also accept reservations for certain times as lunch at well and it would be worthwhile to [...]

Paul Bakery, Charles De Gaulle Airport
September 6th, 2007 · 2 Comments · Baked Goods, France, Paris
Do yourself a favor and avoid all of the ‘Paul’ bakeries while you’re in France. If you’re French, you wouldn’t eat there anyway; if you’re not French and want to eat at a real French bakery, don’t eat there; if you like food, don’t eat there; if you don’t like food, [...]
