Five Guys Burgers and Fries, West Vancouver, BC

July 26th, 2010 · No Comments · Cheap Eats, Fast Food, Favorites, Kid-friendly, Vancouver

I keep hearing about this place – from friends from the East Coast, from magazine articles, – and I couldn’t believe it, but one actually opened here in Vancouver! We were out with S and F, for a morning hike in Lynn Canyon Park, and F was getting seriously hungry. Serious hunger? Five Guys it [...]

L’Agrume – Paris, France

June 6th, 2010 · No Comments · Favorites, France, French, Paris, Prix-fixe

Continuing our tour (here and here) of prix-fixe restaurants mentioned in the New York Times, we decided to go to L’Agrume. Located in the 5th arrondisement, L’Agrume is a small, intimate restaurant – but this is in no way a complaint – it is not overly loud; it does not feel crowded; it is not [...]

Yes, I know that we’ve been here before, and written about it before. But it’s so good, that it needs writing about again. We were on our way to the very beautiful Musée de l’Orangerie this afternoon when we took a detour and took the M12 Metro line all the way to the Pasteur stop [...]

Cook&Taste Cooking Class – Barcelona

January 30th, 2010 · No Comments · Favorites, barcelona

This class was a great way to learn how to cook some traditional Spanish dishes while gaining a greater appreciation for their food. Our teacher used to be a chef at a high-end restaurant but wanted to take a break and try something new and she is great at it.

Eleven Madison Park – New York

January 10th, 2010 · No Comments · Favorites, New York

Since EMP received their 4 stars from the NY times, reservations can be tight so try to book well in advance. The $28 for the lunch prix fixe is a steal for excellent service with great food in a beautiful high-ceilinged room. I started with the spaetzle with the most tender rabbit I have ever [...]
